Paul Van den Berghe (born January 7, 1933 in Geraardsbergen ) is former bishop of Antwerp .

Life

Paul Van den Berghe was ordained priest for the diocese of Ghent on June 15, 1957 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Antwerp on July 3, 1980 . The Archbishop of Mechlin-Brussels , Godfried Danneels , donated him episcopal ordination on September 7th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Léonce Albert Van Peteghem , Bishop of Ghent, and Guillaume Marie van Zuylen , Bishop of Liège .

On October 28, 2008, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related resignation.
