Paul Vincent Donovan
Paul Vincent Donovan (born September 1, 1924 in Bernard , Iowa , † April 27, 2011 ) was an American clergyman and Catholic bishop of Kalamazoo .
Life
Paul Vincent Donovan was ordained a priest for the diocese of Lansing on May 20, 1950 . He was active in pastoral care for two decades, including in the parishes of Our Lady of Fatima near Jackson and St. Agnes in Flint.
Pope Paul VI appointed him on June 15, 1971 as the first bishop of Kalamazoo . The Archbishop of Detroit , Cardinal John Francis Dearden , ordained him episcopal on July 21 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Alexander Mieceslaus Zaleski , Bishop of Lansing, and Michael Joseph Green , Bishop of Reno .
On November 22, 1994, Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation.
