Pauline Manser (born February 2, 1969 in Mount Gambier ) is an Australian beach volleyball and volleyball player and trainer.

Career hall

Manser played in the hall from 1987 to 1991 in the team of the University of New Mexico . As the first sportswoman of the year, the setter and external attacker was inducted into the University's Hall of Honor. With the Australian national team , she completed 150 international matches.

Career Beach

Manser completed her first international beach volleyball tournaments in 1997 at the side of Liane Fenwick . The duo reached a fifth place in Marseille and three ninth places in other open tournaments. Fenwick / Manser also took part in the first official world championship in 1997 in Los Angeles ; there they came in 17th place.

The following year Manser competed with Kerri Pottharst . Manser / Pottharst reached the final at their first joint open tournament in Rio de Janeiro . At the Goodwill Games 1998 in New York City and the Acapulco Open 1999 they also came second. They played other semifinals in Dalian and Salvador da Bahia . They finished seventh in the 1999 World Cup in Marseille .

After the World Cup, Manser formed a new duo with Tania Gooley . The duo finished ninth twice in Espinho and Dalian. In 2000, Gooley / Manser reached the top ten in almost every tournament they participated in. They finished the Grand Slam in Chicago in ninth place and at the Berlin Open they only lost to the US duo May-Treanor / McPeak in the final . Gooley / Manser also took part in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney . In front of their home crowd they made it to the quarter-finals, which they lost to the later finalists Adriana Behar / Shelda Bede from Brazil .

Career as a trainer

After her career as a player, Manser also worked as a trainer. She coached teams in the Australian league and was assistant coach of the national team from 2007 to 2009. She then became the head coach of the Australian selection.
