Tania Gooley (born August 16, 1973 in Adelaide ) is an Australian beach volleyball and volleyball player .

Career hall

In the hall, Gooley played on the University of New Mexico team . In 1994 she was part of the Australian national team .

Career Beach

Gooley completed her first international beach volleyball tournaments in 1996 and 1997 with changing partners. Her best result was seventh place, which she achieved with Angela Clarke at the Busan Open. In 1998 she formed a duo with Nicole Sanderson . On the World Tour, Gooley / Sanderson achieved two fifth places in Toronto and Marseille and a ninth place in Dalian . In 1999 the two Australians took part in the World Championships in Marseille and finished 25th there. Pauline Manser Gooleys then became a new partner. The duo finished ninth twice in Espinho and Dalian. In 2000, Gooley / Manser reached the top ten in almost every tournament they participated in. They finished the Grand Slam in Chicago in ninth place and at the Berlin Open they only lost to the US duo May-Treanor / McPeak in the final . Gooley / Manser also took part in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney . In front of their home crowd they made it to the quarter-finals, which they lost to the later finalists Adriana Behar / Shelda Bede from Brazil .

After a year hiatus, Gooley returned to the Sands in 2002 at Angela Clarke's side. Clarke / Gooley finished fifth in the Stavanger and Maoming Open and ninth in Osaka in the top ten. They also played two grand slams. In 2003 they finished the Grand Slams in Berlin and Marseille as well as the Stavanger Open in 17th place.
