Liane Fenwick (born June 10, 1971 in Sydney ) is an Australian beach volleyball player .

Career

Fenwick completed her first international tournament in 1994 with Lisa Narelle Willcocks and finished ninth in the Santos Open. In 1995 she formed a duo with Anita Spring . At the first joint appearance Fenwick / Spring came in seventh place in La Serena . This was followed by two ninth places at open tournaments in the USA and another seventh place in Espinho . At the tournament in Brisbane they improved to fifth place. In 1996 Fenwick / Spring took part in the Olympic Games in Atlanta . After an opening win against the Japanese Fujita / Takahashi , they had to admit defeat to the later gold medalists Sandra Pires and Jackie Silva (Brazil). On the losing side, they first defeated the British duo Cooper / Glover and then eliminated against the Americans Fontana / Hanley ; so they finished the tournament in seventh place.

The remaining tournaments in 1996 played Fenwick in the world series and the Grand Slam in Carolina with Sarah Straton . The best results were a third place in Osaka and a fifth place in Busan . After the 1997 season opener in Rio de Janeiro , Fenwick formed a new duo with Pauline Manser . Fenwick / Manser achieved a fifth place in Marseille and three ninth places in other open tournaments. They also took part in the first official World Cup in 1997 in Los Angeles ; there they came in 17th place.

In 1998 Fenwick played four Open tournaments with Natalie Cook . She came in ninth in Toronto , seventh in Vasto and fifth in Espinho three times in the top ten; only the result in Marseille was worse. Fenwick made her last appearance on the World Tour at the Osaka Open; there she competed with Annette Huygens Tholen .
