Annette Huygens Tholen (now Annette Lynch ; born January 1, 1966 in Brisbane ) is a former Australian beach volleyball player .

Career

Huygens Tholen played her first international tournaments in 1993/94 with Kerri Pottharst . In addition to the top ten results in open tournaments, the duo reached fifth place at the Grand Slam in Carolina . With her new partner Jacqui Vikosa , Huygens Tholen twice achieved 13th place on the World Tour. In 1996 and 1997 she competed with Angela Clarke . Clarke / Huygens finished fifth in Busan and three times ninth in their first year . In 1997 they achieved seventh place in Osaka . They also took part in the first official World Championship in Los Angeles ; there they took 17th place.

In 1998 Huygens Tholen formed a new duo with Sarah Straton . In their first year together, Straton / Huygens finished seventh in Espinho and ninth at the Open tournaments in Marseille and Dalian . In 1999 they took part in the World Cup in Marseille and came in 13th. In 2000 they did not get a top ten placement. Even so, they took part in the Olympic Games in Sydney . After the initial defeat against the US duo Davis / Jordan , they also had to admit defeat to the German team Friedrichsen / Müsch and finished the tournament in 19th place.

In 2002 Huygens played Tholen with Nicole Sanderson . In open tournaments, the duo was fifth in Montreal and ninth in Madrid and Osaka. They also completed the Grand Slams in Marseille and Klagenfurt .

After the end of her sporting career, Huygens Tholen began working as a motivational trainer . In lectures she speaks about how one can also perform successfully outside of sport.
