The Pausmühlenbach is a flowing body of water in the northwest of Essen . It is named after the Pausmühlenhof of the Paus family in Gerschede . Borbecke and Schmalenbecke are among its inflows . It flows into the Berne , a tributary of the Emscher . By 2018 the stream had been freed from the sewer system. The stream is to be renatured from 2020.
