The Borbecke is a half kilometers long loess - lehmgeprägtes flowing waters of the flange landscapes in the area of Essen district Borbeck in North Rhine-Westphalia . It is a southern and right tributary of the Pausmühlenbach . It feeds the castle ponds of Borbeck Castle .
geography
Spring streams
The Borbecke arises from several spring arms in the Borbeck Castle Park. Its springs in the southwest of the castle park are set in stone.
The 0.8 km long and left source branch rises at a height of 79 m above sea level. NHN north of a sports field and southeast of the Albert Liebmann School . It first flows about forty meters in a north-easterly direction through the park and then forms a small pond. A second source branch also flows into this pond. Almost three hundred meters down the stream, the Schloßbach feeds another pond. The Schloßbach bends east-southeast just before the castle and joins the third arm of the spring north of a sports field.
The approximately four hundred meters long, southern and right source arm rises at a height of 72.5 m above sea level. NHN north of an allotment garden . It also feeds a pond and shortly thereafter joins the left source branch.
Further course
The combined brook damms itself into another pond at the castle, which it leaves underground in a north-northwest direction. It then goes underground in a dead straight line past the Realschule am Schloss Bordeck , then crosses Schloßstraße and then runs almost two hundred meters parallel to Johann-Kruse-Straße . At the height of the Ruhland-Platz it changes its course to the north and flows completely straight through the district.
North of Neuweselstraße, the Borbecke bends sharply to the west-southwest and shortly afterwards to the north and finally flows out at an altitude of about 60 m above sea level. NHN from the right into the Pausmühlenbach approaching from the southwest .
The approximately 1.4 kilometer long course of the Borbecke ends approximately 12.5 meters below its source, so it has an average bed gradient of approximately 8.9 ‰.
Catchment area
The 1.175 km² catchment area of the Borbecke lies in the Westenhellweg natural area and is drained through it via the Pausmühlenbach , the Berne , the Emscher and the Rhine to the North Sea.
It borders
- in the east and southeast to the catchment area of the Borbeck Mühlenbach , which flows into the Berne,
- in the southwest of the Hexbach , which drains over the Läppkes Mühlenbach into the Emscher and
- in the west to that of the Pausmühlenbach.
Renaturation
The stream has been renatured.
