The district of Ancahuasi is located in the province of Anta in the Cusco region in south-central Peru . The district was established on June 21, 1825. It has an area of 124 km². The 2017 census counted 7598 inhabitants. In 1993, the population was 6,937, in 2007 at the 6785th seat of the district administration is at an altitude of 3457 m nearby places Ancahuasi with 2,083 inhabitants (2017). Ancahuasi is 16 km west of the provincial capital Anta . The archaeological site of Killarumiyuq is located 1.5 km northwest of Ancahuasi .
Geographical location
The district of Ancahuasi is centrally located in the Andes in the province of Anta.
The Ancahuasi district is bordered to the west by the district Limatambo , on the north by the district Huarocondo , on the east by the district Zurite and the south by the district Chinchaypujio .
