The Pucyura district is located in the Anta province in the Cusco region in south-central Peru . The district was established on September 30, 1942. It has an area of ​​34 km². The 2017 census counted 3,251 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 2684, in 2007 it was 3545. The district administration is located in the small town of Pucyura with a population of 1980 at an altitude of 3383  m (as of 2017). Pucyura is located 4 km southeast of the provincial capital Anta and 16 km west-northwest of the regional capital Cusco .

Geographical location

The Pucyura district is located in the east of the Anta province. The Anta – Cusco road runs through the district.

The Pucyura district is bordered to the west by the district Anta , in the northeast on the district Cachimayo , the southeast and the south with the districts Poroy and Ccorca (both in the province of Cusco ).
