The district of Ccorca is located in the province of Cusco in the Cusco region in south-central Peru . The district was established on January 14, 1942. It has an area of ​​162 km². The 2017 census counted 2,411 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 2581, in 2007 it was 2343. The 3625  m high town of Ccorca with 283 inhabitants (as of 2017) is the administrative seat of the district. Ccorca is located 11 km southwest of the regional and provincial capital Cusco .

Geographical location

The district of Ccorca is located in the extreme southwest of the province of Cusco. The rural area is drained in a south-easterly direction by the Río Ccorcca, which flows into the Río Apurímac via the Río Molle Molle .

The district of Ccorca borders in the south with the district Huanoquite ( province Paruro ), in the west with the district Chinchaypujio , in the northwest with the district Anta , in the far north with the district Pucyura (the three aforementioned districts are in the province Anta ) and in the east to the districts of Poroy , Cusco and Santiago .
