The province of Cusco is the smallest of the 13 provinces of the Cusco region in the Andes of Peru . It has an area of 617 km². In the 2017 census, the population was 447,588. In 1993 it was 270,324, in 2007 it was 367,791. Their capital is the eponymous Cusco .
Geographical location
The province of Cusco is located in the Andes Mountains. It borders the provinces of Calca and Urubamba in the north, the province of Quispicanchi in the east, the province of Paruro in the south and the province of Anta in the west . All the provinces mentioned also belong to the Cusco region.
Administrative division
The province of Cusco is divided into eight districts. The district of Cusco is the seat of the provincial administration.
