The Pavel Bazhov ( Russian Павел Бажов , German transcription: Pawel Baschow) is a river cruise ship that was built in 1961 in the GDR at VEB Mathias-Thesen-Werft Wismar as a series II 588 ship and belongs to the Rodina class (project 588) heard. The German name is BiFa type A (inland passenger ship type A). It bears the name of the Soviet writer Pavel Bashov .
The river cruise ship with the construction number 141 with three passenger decks was built in 1961 under the name Vilgelm Pik ( Russian Вильгельм Пик , German transcription: Wilhelm Pieck) in the GDR for the Soviet Union in 72 days, with the ships with other names only in over 90 days finished. It belongs to a prepared 1954-1961 series of vessels 49 of the type Rodina , in two divergent series of batch ran. The first series of eleven ships of the V. Chkalov class and, since 1957, the second series of 38 ships of the Kosmonavt Gagarin class.
history
From 1961 to 2012 the ship was operated by the Kama shipping company in Perm (ГП Камское речное пароходство МРФ РСФСР) and was the flagship of the Kama shipping company until 1978. In 1992, with the replacement of the main engines with more powerful ones, the river cruise ship was renamed. In 1994 the Soviet flag was replaced by a Russian one. The Pavel Bazhov has been continuously modernized since 1995 , maintaining the atmosphere of the 1960s. In 2013 the ship will be operated by the tour operator Sputnik-RMK from Perm on the Volga to Yaroslavl in the north and Astrakhan in the south.
All cabins are equipped with a toilet, shower and sink, refrigerator, television set with satellite TV reception and central air conditioning. There are two restaurants for 70 and 50 people respectively and two bars on the ship.
