Paweł Jarzębski

Paweł Jarzębski (born April 21, 1948 in Poznań ) is a Polish modern jazz bassist .

Jarzębski became internationally known in the early 1970s as a member of Michal Urbaniak's group . In 1972 he was involved in the recording of Kristian Schultze's album Recreation (with Olaf Kübler and Joe Nay ). From 1973 he worked with Zbigniew Namysłowski and was involved in his successful album "Winobranie". In 1974 he performed with Urbaniak at the Newport Jazz Festival . He played with the Novi Singers (LP "Rien ne va plus"). In 1978 he founded "The Quartet" with Tomasz Szukalski , Sławomir Kulpowicz and Janusz Stefański , which was soon regarded as the leading jazz combo in Poland and was able to present itself internationally until 1980 with a record of the same name as well as touring America and Europe. Occasionally there was a later reassignment of the band, which could be heard around 2006 in Germany. He also recorded with Elżbieta Adamiak and Scott Earl Holman .
