Pavel Borisovich Bykov ( Russian Павел Борисович Быков ; born March 28, jul. / April 10, 1914 greg. In Tjumenewo , Ryazan Governorate ; † 12. December 2013 in Ryazan ) was a Soviet Dreher . He became known for the high- speed turning method he developed . He and his way of working were presented as a role model in the course of socialist propaganda .

Life

Bykov worked in a Moscow grinding machine plant and is said to have initiated the first so-called complex brigade there. He developed several high-speed machining processes, including high-speed turning. Bykow used unusually high cutting speeds, for which special turning tools had been developed.

In order to spread his approach to work and the associated higher productivity, Bykow visited many companies in socialist countries and especially in the GDR as an innovator .

Appreciations

Pavel Bykov was the recipient of the Stalin Prize . Various institutions were named after him in the GDR and a stamp was issued with his picture. In Bad Schandau an FDGB vacation home was named after Pawel Bykow. The turning shop of VEB Schwermaschinenbau "Karl Liebknecht" in Salbke was also named Pawel Bykow . The painter Hermann Bruse created the oil painting Pawel Bykow - Teacher of German Workers in 1951/52 .
