Pedicularis cyathophylla is a species of lice herb ( Pedicularis ). It is native to parts of China .

description

Pedicularis cyathophylla is a perennial, herbaceous plant that reaches heights of 15 to 55 centimeters. The roots are conical, at their ends there are tufts of thread-like roots. The stems are hairy downy. The leaves are arranged in whorls of three or four. The petioles and the base of the bracts are greatly widened and cup-shaped fused together and up to 5 centimeters high. The leaf blade is long, elliptical, 14 × 4 cm, pinnate and on the upper side on the leaf veinssparsely ciliated. The calyx is about 1.5 inches tall, hairy long and deeply split. The two calyx lobes are oblong-lanceolate, 2 to 3 millimeters long and serrated. The crown is 5 to 6 inches tall and purple-red. The corolla tube is bent towards the tip at a right angle, slender and 3.5 to 5 (rarely up to 6) × 2 to 2.5 centimeters in size. The beak is about 7 millimeters long and curved inward. The lower lip is wider than it is long. The stamens are downy-haired throughout.

The species blooms from May to July and fruit from July to August.

Occurrence

Pedicularis cyathophylla is in the southwestern province of Sichuan and the northwest of the neighboring province of Yunnan in the People's Republic of China endemic . The species grows there on alpine meadows at altitudes of around 4700 meters.
