Pelemele (from the French “pêle-mêle” for “mishmash”) is a Cologne band that makes rock music for children. She was the house band of the "children's stunksitzung" .
history
In 2001 the five musicians Paulus Müller, Nino Kann, Andreas Ostricki, Florian Bergmann and Andreas Niemann formed the band Pelemele in Cologne to make rock music for children. At first they played well-known children's songs, later they wrote their own songs.
Since 2003 Pelemele has been the house band of the “Kinderstunksitzung”. The band also plays in live broadcasts for public children's radio programs, such as Lilipuz from WDR .
Pelemele's first two albums were produced at home, and in 2005 Pelemele's first studio album was produced in the Doghouse Studios near Cologne. The next two albums were also made there.
In 2008 Nino Kann left the band and started a solo project. Andi Ostricki took over the guitar, and with Christoph Fröhlich a new bass player joined Pelemele. The "Tröten", a three-headed brass section, consisting of a trombone , saxophone and trumpet, was added to the basic line-up for many concerts.
In the same year Pelemele wrote the official song for the "Science Year of Mathematics 2008" ( you can do more math than you think ) and played it in the Chancellery and in the German Museum .
In January 2011 the CD Rockcircus was released . The band's sixth studio album also features the title Kulturstrolch ; the motto song of the cultural project of the same name was realized together with the city of Viersen and the Sparkasse Krefeld .
In 2012 Paulus Müller and Andi Ostricki-Liebel left the band in favor of children, family and jobs. In addition to the bass, Christoph Fröhlich also took on the main vocals. With David Mirche a new guitarist came into the band. With the new line-up, Pelemele played numerous concerts all over Germany in 2013, including at the Kieler Woche , the Breminale and the Red Salon Berlin .
