Pennigbüttel is a district of Osterholz-Scharmbeck in the district of Osterholz , about 25 km north of Bremen .

history

The formerly independent municipality was incorporated into the district town of Osterholz-Scharmbeck on March 1, 1974 as part of a regional reform in the state of Lower Saxony .

Up until a few years ago Pennigbüttel was mainly characterized by agriculture, but the appearance of the town has changed significantly in the recent past; new commercial and residential areas have been designated. As a result, the number of inhabitants and traffic have also risen sharply. Around 2000 people now live in Pennigbüttel.
