The Pentecost River is a river in the Kimberley region in the northeast of the Australian state of Western Australia .
geography
The river has its source in the northern part of the Durack Ranges and flows north. It flows through El Questro Station and along the north side of the Pentecost Range , where it crosses the Gibb River Road in a ford. The river borders the Drysdale River National Park in the east and finally flows into the West Arm , a part of the Cambridge Gulf , which in turn belongs to the Timor Sea , around 50 kilometers southwest of Wyndham .

Origin of name
The river was named after John Pentecost , who measured it in 1882 on an expedition led by Michael Durack .
