Penzenried is a district of the Offenberg municipality in the Deggendorf district in Lower Bavaria . Until 1973 it formed an independent municipality.

location

The village is three and a half kilometers north of Offenberg on the plateau of a ridge south of the Bernrieder Bach . The district road DEG 44 runs through the village .

history

The municipality of Penzenried has belonged to the Deggendorf district court since it was founded and was formed from parts of the Haid and Offenberg tax districts, it switched to the newly founded Bogen district court on October 1, 1839 and was reclassified to the Deggendorf district court on August 8, 1857. It consisted of twelve districts, the Kirchdorf Aschenau , the hamlets Kronwinkling , Nassau , Oberried and Penzenried and deserts Arndorf , Haidmühle , Hartham , Hötzmann , Laubberg , Löchelsau and Maiberg . With the incorporation of the municipality of Penzenried into the municipality of Offenberg on July 1, 1973, the village became a district of this municipality. The community area was around 623 hectares .

The place belongs to the Catholic parish of Neuhausen .
