Perć Akademików ( German Academic Path ) is a mountain path in the Babia Góra massif in Poland . It is considered to be the most difficult hiking trail in the Saybuscher Beskids . Its length is 2.5 km.
Location and route
The path begins at the Markowe Szczawiny Hut and leads to the highest peak of the West Beskids , the Diablak in the Babia Góra massif . The path is secured with chains and brackets in places . There is a risk of avalanches and falling rocks .

The trail crosses several other hiking trails, all of which are flatter. In the summit area it crosses the main Beskydy hiking trail .
history
The path was laid out in 1894 by the Beskydy Association and led from the center of Zawoja to the summit. In 1906 the Markowe Szczawiny Hut was opened and the path between the hut and the summit was further expanded and renewed. Another restoration took place in 1925 and again in 1926.
The path was initially called Weiberbergpfad, Felsenpfad or Tatranistenpfad and was only given its current name in 1925.
