Ceprostrada is a high trail in the Dolina Rybiego Potoku valley in the High Tatras in Poland . It is considered to be the easiest hiking trail in the High Tatras. Its length is two kilometers.

Location and route

The path begins at the Schronisko PTTK nad Morskim Okiem refuge on the Meerauge mountain lake . It initially leads on the western edge of the lake, rising slightly on the eastern slope of the Miedziane to the Naspady hanging valley above the Dwoista Siklawa waterfall . There the ascent to the hanging valley Dolina za Mnichem begins , where a red marked hiking trail branches off to the south and leads to the Wrota Chałubińskiego mountain pass , and on to the north-east slope of the Szpiglasowy Wierch . The Ceprostrada ends on the Szpiglasowa Przełęcz mountain pass , from where you can either climb a yellow-marked hiking trail to the summit of Szpiglasowy Wierch or descend on a yellow-marked hiking trail into the Dolina Pięciu Stawów Polskich valley.

history

The trail was rebuilt in 1937. Originally, he was to continue over the Szpiglasowy Wierch to the summit Liptowskie Mury and the mountain pass gładka Przełęcz to the summit Kasprowy Wierch in the Western Tatras lead. The Second World War prevented the completion of the project.

etymology

The name Ceprostrada was initially given the hiking trail somewhat teasingly by the Góralen . It is now official and can be found on the Tatra hiking maps. It consists of two halves : Cepro from Ceper and strada from autostrada . A Ceper is for the Highlanders (mountain people), a non-Górale, so a flat rural residents. An autostrada is a motorway. The Ceprostrada is therefore a path that is often used by flatland residents . This is to express that it is not particularly difficult to walk.
