Per-Olof "Pelle" Berglund (born February 28, 1939 in Hedemora , Sweden ) is a Swedish director , film producer and screenwriter .

Life

Berglund is the son of the physician Bengt Berglund and the physiotherapist Gunilla Hedmark . After graduating from high school and high school in 1959, he studied at Stockholm University from 1961 to 1965 . He then worked as an editor from 1966 to 1968. In 1969 he had his first involvement in the film as an assistant director in Fadern . From 1975 to 1980 he worked as a freelance director and film producer and from 1984 to 1985 at the Swedish Film Institute . He has also worked as a screenwriter, director and film producer in many Swedish films and television productions. Berglund was also involved in the development of some Swedish television programs, such as Nöjesmassakern and Razzel, and also acted as a presenter .

Berglund was nominated for an Oscar in 1988 in the category Best Adapted Screenplay for the film Mein Leben als Hund .

Berglund is married to Gunilla Hedmark , a publisher's editor .
