Per Ulrik Kernell

Per Ulrik Kernell , (* 9. April 1797 in Linköping , Sweden ; † 30th March 1824 in Erlangen ) was a Swedish writer of romance .

Life

Kernell studied at Uppsala University from 1815 and was an exceptionally gifted interpreter of the bailiff Carl Michael Bellman . He took part in the literary circles of the circle of the Romantics of Uppsala, which often met in the salon of the widow Colonel Malla Montgomery-Silfverstolpe .

In the spring of 1822 he fell ill with tuberculosis and went on a trip to the south ( France , Italy , Germany ). In the summer of 1823, Kernell stayed at the University of Erlangen until autumn . After a spa stay in Bad Ems , Per Ulrik Kernell died in Erlangen and was buried there in the Neustädter Friedhof.
