Per Wästberg
Per Wästberg [ ˌpæːɹ ˈvɛsːtbæɹʝ ] (born November 20, 1933 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish writer . From July 21, 1979 to 1986 and again on an interim basis from December 1989 to May 1990, he was President of the international PEN Club . In his socially critical novels and reports, he described the search for freedom in a material world of illusion. He also published African literature. Per Wästberg has been a member of the Swedish Academy since 1997.
