Perlesöd is a district of the city of Freyung in the Lower Bavarian district of Freyung-Grafenau .

Perlesöd is about one kilometer east of Freyung on state road 2630.

history

The land register of the regional court of the abbey of 1549 names a large number of wasteland subject to royal tax in the area, old cleared areas that were orphaned due to a population decline and were also used by farmers from neighboring villages as meadows or pastures. The Perlesöd desert was presumably reoccupied in the late 15th century.

Perlesöd belonged to the Ort Obmannschaft in the sub-office of the Wolfstein lordship in the Passau bishopric and, according to the land register of 1788, consisted of eight properties. After secularization in Bavaria , Perlesöd became part of the tax district Ort and then the municipality Ort in the wake of the municipal edicts of 1808 and 1818 . With the dissolution of the municipality of Ort on April 1, 1954, Perlesöd came to the city of Freyung.

From 1951 to 1956, from the Perlesöd balloon station, thousands of balloons with millions of leaflets were released into what was then Czechoslovakia. At the 1987 census, the village of Perlesöd had 219 inhabitants.
