from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Steasy , formerly active under the pseudonyms Persteasy and Perstil Precious , is a German rapper from Kiel , who gained notoriety through his numerous participations in the video battle tournament .

Life and career

Steasy, whose real name is Marius, grew up as the third child of the family in Plön , a district town in Schleswig-Holstein . In 2003 he came into contact with hip-hop through a visit to the Splash Festival with his older brothers and then took part in rap battles in the Reimliga Battle Arena from 2004 to 2006 . The first participation in the VBT followed in 2008, where Persteasy wore his signature sunglasses from the very beginning . 2010 Persteasy was together with JAW on the album sociopath of Hollywood Hank represented. Meanwhile Persteasy moved to Kiel in order at the Christian-Albrechts-University German and Sport on teachers to study.

Steasy is a member of the Badminton Club and can often be seen in his videos with badminton rackets . In his four participations in the video battle tournament, Persteasy was beaten only once in a regular battle: In the VBT 2012 he was defeated in the quarterfinals by Klaus Bukkake, who later won the tournament, with 52:58 points. At the VBT 2008 he voluntarily dropped out because he wanted to watch the European Football Championship , at the VBT 2011 because he simply "didn't feel like it anymore". The VBT Splash! In 2013 he clearly won 18: 8 points with his final victory against the rapper 4tune . The final round was viewed 1.4 million times on YouTube . (As of June 2020)

This was followed by an appearance by Persteasy at the Splash Festival 2013 in Ferropolis and two tours together with Rapper Weekend . In 2014, Persteasy also performed on the Spack! Festival and at the KuRT Festival . Since his tournament victory in July 2013, Persteasy, who until then had only released EPs and freetracks, repeatedly announced the release of his first commercial album. He turned down offers from music labels , however, and produced the album Status Symbol on his own for a period of four years, parallel to his master’s degree .

As part of the publication of Status Symbol , Persteasy changed his stage name to Steasy . Compared to rap.de, he justified this with the fact that he “was previously called Steasy by everyone else . It's easier to remember because it only has two syllables ”. During the doctoral phase of his album, Steasy also spoke about his career entry as a teacher:

“It took about three days for any tenth graders to recognize me. [...] It went from the oldest to the youngest students and from the youngest to the oldest teachers to the headmaster, who then asked me about it. After three weeks the whole school knew it and it was easily the number one topic of conversation for three months. "

After the release of the album Status Symbol on November 17, 2017, it charted at number 17 on the hip-hop charts. Music videos were released for the songs gestures, status symbols, subtitles, world music and children's eyes . The EP Life followed in 2018 , on which the rapper Pimf is also represented. During the COVID-19 pandemic , Steasy released the track mask .
