Peshay

Peshay (* 1970 in London ; real name: Paul Pesce ) is an English producer for electronic music and DJ .

Career

Peshay began his music career in the early 1990s as a breakbeat DJ. His music, which is assigned to the directions jungle / drum'n'base , is influenced by house and fusion jazz .

He made his first release in 1993 with the EP "Protegé" on the Reinforced label.

Contributions on the label Metalheadz by producer Goldie followed.

He also released several singles on the label Good Looking Records of LTJ Bukem .

After serious health problems his debut album "Miles From Home" was to be released in 1997 by Mo Wax . Due to economic difficulties of the label, however, the plans had to be postponed, and it was not until 1998 that the album, the title of which is a tribute to Miles Davis , appears on the Blue Island label.

He is the (co-) founder of the Pivotal, Elements and Cubik labels.

Peshay releases have also appeared on Infrared, Black Widow, Reinforced and Formation.

He has made remixes for artists such as Galliano , Jay Dee, Carl Craig , Goldie, Ingrid Schroeder , DJ Die, DJ Shadow , and Courtney Pine .

Private

Peshay has Italian family roots. His mother was a classical singer.

In 2001 he was named "Best Drum'n'Bass DJ 2001" by the Ibiza Club " Pacha ".
