Peter Assion (born August 24, 1959 ) is a German soccer coach and former player.

Player career

He started at SC Geislingen , then from 1. FC Eislingen to the amateurs of VfB Stuttgart . Then he played at 1. Göppinger SV . As a professional Assion played from 1983 to 1988 exclusively for SSV Ulm 1846 in the 2nd Bundesliga . Assion played 119 times in the second division and scored two goals. There were also 20 league games (three goals) in the 1985/86 championship season . After Ulm the stations 1. FC Pforzheim and FC Memmingen followed .

Coaching career

Assion's first coaching station was as a player-coach at the Vorarlberg club SC Austria Lustenau , was instant champion, and rose with the club in the 1st division. After the 1992/93 season he took a year off. In 1994/95 he was a trainer at SC Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz , won the championship and rose to the 1st division in Austria with the club. In 2000/01 he coached his home club SSV Ulm 1846 in the 2nd Bundesliga, and from 1999 to 2001 was in a responsible management position at SSV Ulm 1846. He was then head of sports at SV Austria Salzburg and then briefly coach of the Mozartstadt team. In 2007 he became sports director at Wacker Burghausen . From March 31, 2008 he also took over the coaching position and qualified with the club for the new 3rd division in Germany Wacker Burghausen as a replacement for the dismissed Ingo Anderbrügge . From July 2009 to October 2010 Assion was the sporting director of Austria's New Footballstar , which was broadcast as a casting format on PULS 4 in autumn 2010.

Together with Matthias Klesen, the marketing manager of a regional mineral fountain, Assion had the entire Bundesliga team of SSV Ulm 1846 take highly acclaimed erotic photos and publish them on large posters.
