Peter Augar (born March 26, 1952 ) is a former German football referee . In the role of assistant referee , he was on the FIFA list . He was used in various international competitions, mainly as assistant to the FIFA referee Hellmut Krug .

As part of qualifying for the 1994 World Cup , Augar acted as Hellmut Krug's assistant in the games between Hungary and Greece (March 31, 1993, final score 0: 1) and in the decisive game of the North America group between Canada and Mexico (May 9, 1993) 1993, final score 1: 2), through which Mexico secured qualification for the World Cup; Canada lost in the relegation game against Australia and missed the qualification. For the 1998 World Cup he was an assistant in the qualifying game between Finland and Hungary (October 11, 1997, final score 1: 1).

In addition, Augar was used as an assistant in the UEFA Cup , UI Cup and the Champions League as well as at the U-16 European Championship in 1995 and the U-21 European Championship in 1996 .

As a referee, Augar did not make any appearances in professional football , he acted in the 1990s as a referee in the then third-class Regionalliga Nordost . He also headed five games in the DFB Cup .
