Peter Bartha

Peter Bartha (born February 8, 1937 in Hermannseifen ; † January 7, 2015 in Göttingen ) was a German mineralogist and refractory stone expert .

Life

Bartha studied mineralogy at Freiberg Mining Academy and then at the mountain academy Clausthal -metallic minerals to the diploma Accounts with a thesis on the use of blast furnace - slag for cement -Fabrication.

1962–1963 Bartha was research assistant in the central laboratory of the North German Portland Cementfabriken AG in Hanover . In 1963 he moved to Steinwerke Feuerfest Karl Albert GmbH , the later Refratechnik group , as a research and development engineer . There he investigated magnesium oxide , spinels , bauxite , chamotte and clays with regard to applications as refractory materials . In particular, he developed special phosphate alumina stones. As part of these research activities, he completed his dissertation on the bonding of refractory materials with phosphoric acid , with which he graduated from the Clausthal Bergakademie in 1968 as a Dr.-Ing. received his doctorate .

Bartha stayed in the Refratechnik Group, became Head of Research and Development and in 1987 Managing Director of Refratechnik Cement GmbH in Göttingen . He initiated the Refra Colloquium and maintained an exchange with the Universities of Clausthal , Göttingen , Aachen , Mainz and Freiberg . In 2002 he became an advisor to Refratechnik Holding in Ismaning and a member of the board of directors of the Alexander Tutsek Foundation in Munich . As a co-author he took part in the paperback Refractory Materials - Structure, Properties, Testing (eds. Gerald Routschka and Hartmut Wuthnow, Vulkan Verlag, 4th edition 2007).
