Peter Biziou

Peter Biziou (born August 8, 1944 in Bangor , Wales ) is a British cameraman .

Life

Biziou was born in Wales in the summer of 1944 because his mother, who came from London, wanted to avoid the German bombing during the Battle of Britain .

Biziou began his career as a special effects photographer before moving to commercial photography . At the end of the 1960s he worked for the first time as head cameraman for cinema, and since the following decade he made a name for himself as a regular cameraman for Alan Parker's films , with whom he worked on six productions from 1973 onwards. One of them was Mississippi Burning , for which Biziou won the 1989 Oscar for Best Camera . He also won a British Academy Film Award . His work includes more than 20 productions. He last appeared in 2005.
