Peter Boekholt

Peter Boekholt SDB (born November 25, 1943 in Hommersum on the Lower Rhine ) is a German religious and Roman Catholic canon lawyer and pastoral theologian .

Life

Peter Boekholt joined the Order of the Salesians of Don Bosco in 1964 . From 1968 to 1970 he studied social pedagogy and philosophy at the Catholic Foundation University in Munich in Benediktbeuern . He was ordained a priest on June 29, 1975 . After working as an educator in the St. Johannesstift of the Salesians Don Bosco in Essen , he was youth chaplain in the youth education center of the SDB in Jünkerath . From 1976 to 1979 he completed doctoral studies in canon law at the Pontifical Salesian University in Rome and was established in 1979 with the work of the mystery of the Eucharist in the Church's legal system when Tarcisio Bertone to Dr. jur. can. (Doctor Canon Law) PhD . In 1979/80 he was a pastor in the youth education center of SDB Jünkerath. After research assistant at the chair for canon law with Hubert Socha at the Theological Faculty Trier , he was a lecturer for canon law at the Philosophical-Theological University Benediktbeuern from 1982 .

When he was appointed full professor for canon law in 1984, Boekholt took over the chair for canon law at the Philosophical-Theological University of Benediktbeuern. He is spiritual in the late professions seminar St. Matthias in Wolfratshausen-Waldram. Boekholt is a member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. Trifels Munich in the Cartell Association .

Boekholt's teaching and research focus is on Catholic canon law, church constitution, the organizational structure of the church as well as criminal procedural law, word and sacrament from a legal point of view, marriage law and religious orders.
