Peter Chung Hoan Ting (born September 10, 1928 in Luinchi ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman and senior archbishop of Kuching .

Life

Peter Chung Hoan Ting was ordained a priest on September 26, 1954 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on September 1, 1970 as coadjutor vicar of Kota Kinabalu and titular bishop of Acelum . The Vicar Apostolic of Kota Kinabalu, James Buis MHM , donated him episcopal ordination on November 15 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Dominic Vendargon , Bishop of Kuala Lumpur , and Gregory Yong Sooi Ngean , Bishop of Penang .

When James Buis' MHM retired on August 1, 1972, he succeeded him as Apostolic Vicar of Kota Kinabalu. On January 30, 1975, he was appointed Vicar Apostolic of Kuching . With the elevation to the archbishopric on May 31, 1976 he was appointed the first archbishop of Kuching. On June 21, 2003, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
