The Diocese of Penang ( lat. : Dioecesis Pinangensis ) is in Malaysia located Roman Catholic diocese , based in Georgetown . It includes the states of Perlis , Kedah , Penang , Kelantan and Perak in northwestern Malaysia.

history

The diocese of Penang was founded on February 25, 1955 by Pope Pius XII. built from cession of territory by the Archdiocese of Malacca . It is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur as a suffragan .
