The Diocese of Keningau ( lat. : Dioecesis Keningauensis ) is in Malaysia located Roman Catholic diocese based in Keningau in the state of Sabah on the island of Borneo . Its territory is the Interior Division administrative area .

history

The Diocese of Keningau was established on December 17, 1992 by Pope John Paul II from cession of territory from the Diocese of Kota Kinabalu and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Kuching as a suffragan . First Bishop was Cornelius Piong .

On May 23, 2008, the Diocese of Keningau was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Kota Kinabalu as a suffragan.
