The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Kuching ( Latin Archidioecesis Kuchingensis ) is in Malaysia located Roman Catholic archdiocese , based in Kuching .

history

Pope Pius XI founded the Apostolic Prefecture Sarawak with the Breve Quae rei sacrae on February 5, 1927 from cessions of territory from the Apostolic Prefecture Labuan and Borneo . On February 14, 1952, she was promoted to the Apostolic Vicariate . It was raised to the rank of Metropolitan Archdiocese on May 31, 1976.

It lost parts of its territory in favor of the establishment of the following dioceses:
