Peter Cousins (born March 3, 1981 in Harlow , England ) is a former British judoka . In 2007 he won a silver medal at the World Championships.

Athletic career

The 1.77 m tall Peter Cousins ​​was mostly active in the middleweight division until 2005, the weight class up to 90 kilograms. In 1998 he won a bronze medal at the World Youth Games in Moscow. In the same year he was fifth in the U20 World Championships. In 1999 he won a bronze medal at the U20 European Championships. In 2000 he was defeated in the final of the U20 World Championships to the Georgian Surab Swiadauri . A month and a half later, Cousins ​​won the U20 European Championships. In 2005 he won his first World Cup tournament in Bucharest.

At the 2005 World Championships in Cairo, Cousins ​​competed in the light heavyweight division for the first time, the weight class up to 100 kilograms. He was eliminated in the round of 16 against the Hungarian Dániel Hadfi . At the European Championships in 2006 in Tampere he was defeated by Israeli Ariel Zeevi in the round of 16 , with victories over Serb Ryu Mijalković , Austrian Franz Birkfellner and Belarusian Ihar Makarau , cousins ​​fought their way to the bronze medal.
