Peter W. Douris (born February 19, 1966 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who played for the Winnipeg Jets , Boston Bruins , Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and Dallas Stars in the National from 1983 to 2002 Hockey League , as well as the EV Landshut and the Munich Barons in the DEL .
Career
Peter Douris began his career as a hockey player on the University of New Hampshire team , for which he was active from 1983 to 1985. During this period he was selected in the second round of the 1984 NHL Entry Draft as the 30th player in total by the Winnipeg Jets , for whom he made his debut in the National Hockey League in the 1985/86 season , where he scored points in eleven games and remained unpunished. Most of the season, however, he spent with Winnipeg's farm team from the American Hockey League , the Sherbrooke Canadiens , with whom he was defeated in the final of the Calder Cup by the Rochester Americans . After the attacker in the following season mainly for the new AHL farm team of the Jets, the Moncton Hawks , arose, he was handed over to the St. Louis Blues on September 29, 1988 , but came in the 1988/89 season only for their farm team from the International Hockey League , the Peoria Rivermen , are used.
On June 27, 1989 Douris received a contract as a free agent with the Boston Bruins , for which he was the following four years in the NHL on the ice. In his first game for the Bruins, on October 5, 1989 against the Pittsburgh Penguins , Douris scored his first NHL goal. He then spent three seasons with their league rivals Mighty Ducks of Anaheim , before playing almost exclusively in the IHL for the Milwaukee Admirals and Michigan K-Wings from 1996 to 1998 . Only in the 1997/98 season was the winger used in a game by the Dallas Stars in the NHL. In the summer of 1998 the Canadian moved to EV Landshut in the DEL . When they sold their DEL license following the 1998/99 season, Douris joined the newly founded Munich Barons , with whom he became German champions in the 1999/2000 season . In the following season the former Canadian junior international reached the final of the German championship again with the Barons, but lost with his team to DEL record champions Adler Mannheim . Following the 2001/02 season, Douris ended his career with the Munich Barons.

For Canada Douris took part in the Junior World Championship in 1986 , where he finished second with his team.
