Peter Forster (journalist)

Urs Peter Forster (* 1946 ) is a Swiss journalist.

Life

Peter Forster studied history at the University of Zurich , where he received his doctorate in 1970 with a thesis on the history of churches. He then worked as a correspondent for the Neue Zürcher Zeitung in Israel (including during the Yom Kippur War ), Turkey , Greece and Cyprus . From 1981 to 2000 he was editor in chief of the Thurgauer Zeitung , since 2005 he has been editor in chief of the military - technical journal Swiss soldier .

From 1979 to 2011 Peter was Forster mayor of Salenstein . He is married to Heidi Forster, father of three sons, lives in Salenstein and, originally battery commander of the artillery, was militia colonel in the press and radio communications department .
