Peter Galliard

Peter Galliard (born April 28, 1961 in Chur ) is a Swiss opera singer ( tenor ). He has been engaged at the Hamburg State Opera since 1986 .

Life

Peter Galliard first studied at the Vorarlberg State Conservatory in Feldkirch , then at the Salzburg Mozarteum with Rudolf Knoll . In 1985 Galliard was awarded a sponsorship prize at the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg. After completing his studies in 1986, Rolf Liebermann engaged him at the Hamburg State Opera , of which he has been a member since then. In addition to his vocal activities as a permanent member of the ensemble in Hamburg, Galliard had guest engagements, including a. in Berlin ( State Opera and Deutsche Oper ), Frankfurt and Dresden .

Opera parts, concerts and songs sung by Galliard can be heard on a number of phonograms. His repertoire includes a. the "Tamino" from the Magic Flute , the "Cassio" from Otello , "Peter Iwanow" from Tsar and Zimmermann and the "Captain" from Wozzeck . Galliard gave the "Loge" and the "Mime" in the 2008/2009 new Hamburg production of the Ring .
