Peter Gerlach

Peter Gerlach (born February 25, 1938 in Coburg ; † October 2, 2007 ) was a German media manager .

Peter Gerlach completed a commercial apprenticeship, after which he took over the management of the UFA manufacturing plant in Potsdam. In 1970 he came to ZDF and from 1972 became head of the entertainment department . From 1976 he became deputy program director. The formats he oversees include The Black Forest Clinic , The Dream Ship , A Crazy Couple , The Grand Prix , Music Is Trumps and the Peter Alexander Show . From 1981 he headed the central office for cooperation with third parties. In 1986 he switched to the broadcaster Sat.1 and worked there as executive program director until 1997. He then worked as a lecturer and media consultant. He was chairman of the juries for the German Television Prize , the Bavarian Television Prize and the Golden Lion .

For his services in television entertainment, he was awarded the Golden Camera , the Bambi and the Telestar .
