Peter Erasmus Josef Gleitsmann (born June 2, 1855 in Munich ; † December 27, 1929 there ) was a Catholic clergyman and a member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Gleitsmann attended the weekday school (Hlg. Geist), the Ludwigs-Gymnasium and the University of Munich , where he studied philosophy and theology. He was ordained a priest in Freising . Then he was first chaplain in Neuhausen near Munich, then in Landshut and finally pastor and dean in Berg ob Landshut . He was president of the Catholic journeyman's association in Landshut, board member and secretary of various political, charitable and agricultural associations. He was also the holder of the large silver medal for agriculture and since 1893 an honorary citizen of Landshut.

From 1903 to 1912 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Niederbayern 1 (Landshut, Dingolfing , Vilsbiburg ) and the German Center Party . Between 1905 and 1907 he was also a member of the Bavarian Chamber of Deputies .
