Peter Greulich (* 1957 ) is a German local politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). He was City Director of the City of Duisburg and, after Adolf Sauerland was voted out of office on February 12, 2012, until Sören Link was elected Lord Mayor of Duisburg on July 1, 2012, he was temporarily head of the Duisburg city ​​administration . From 2013 to 2015 he was a member of the management board of Wirtschaftsbetriebe Duisburg AöR.

Peter Greulich joined the party "The Greens" at an early stage. After working as the head of the environmental department of the city of Gütersloh , he was elected head of the environment department on June 1, 2000 by the city council of Duisburg. After Adolf Sauerland (CDU) was elected mayor in 2004, there were disagreements with Jürgen C. Brandt (SPD), then city director . After the end of his term of office (Brandt was not re-elected by the majority of the CDU and Greens at the time), the council elected Greulich on November 6, 2006 with 38 votes and 34 votes against, in addition to city ​​director . A second attempt was necessary because in the first election on September 19, 2006 the necessary majority of votes was not achieved.

In 2008 he was re-elected by the Council as Head of Environment, Health and Consumer Protection with 36 votes in favor and 35 against. His term as electoral officer lasts until 2016.

After the Love Parade accident in July 2010 and during the controversy over the referendum on the election of the Lord Mayor of Duisburg , Greulich demonstrated several times in television reports as a personal friend of Lord Mayor Adolf Sauerland . In the voting process, he was also the election officer for the city of Duisburg, representing the Sauerland, which was considered to be prevented, and publicly announced the successful decision to vote against on February 12, 2012.

In the interim period up to the inauguration of the newly elected Lord Mayor Link at the beginning of July 2012, Peter Greulich was city director in charge of the city administration. After Adolf Sauerland was voted out of office, Greulich stated in the local media that he did not want to hold office in the city of Duisburg until the end of the election period.

On October 2, 2012, he was elected as a member of the Management Board by the supervisory board of the Duisburg-owned Wirtschaftsbetriebe Duisburg, an institution under public law , with effect from January 1, 2013. Greulich left this position on December 31, 2015 for health reasons.
