Peter Heidt

Peter Heidt (born April 28, 1965 in Frankfurt am Main , Germany ) is a German politician ( FDP ) and lawyer . Since July 1, 2019, he has been moving up for in the European Parliament impersonated Nicola Beer member of the 19th German Bundestag .

biography

After graduating from high school in 1984, Heidt did his military service and began studying law at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen . In 1992 he passed the first state examination and in 1995, after completing his legal clerkship in Giessen and Frankfurt, the second state examination. After working for two and a half years as an assistant to a member of the state parliament in Wiesbaden from 1989 to 1991 , he has been working as an independent lawyer since 1997 . He completed a specialization course in construction law at the German Lawyers' Academy . Heidt is co-owner of the law firm am Adolfsturm in Friedberg .

Politics and party

Heidt joined the Young Liberals as a student in 1986 and the FDP a year later. From 1987 to 1990 he was district chairman of the Young Liberals in the Wetterau district , from 1988 to 1992 he was also a member of the Hessian state board of the youth association. Since 1988 he has been a member of the FDP district board of the Wetterau district and since 2006 a member of the district council, where he was appointed chairman of the FDP parliamentary group in 2011. Before that, Heidt was a member of the local advisory board of Bad Nauheim's core city in 1999 and was a member of the city council of Bad Nauheim from 1999 to 2006. He has been a member of this body again since 2016. For the 2017 federal election , he was placed seventh on the Hessian state list, which means that he just missed an entry. In July 2019, he became a member of the German Bundestag as a replacement for Nicola Beer. Peter Heidt is chairman for the FDP in the committee for human rights and humanitarian aid and a member of the committee for education, research and technology assessment .

Private

Peter Heidt is the honorary first chairman of the sports club VfB Friedberg and the second chairman of the cultural association Schöne Dorfleben eV Wisselsheim. Heidt is also a member of the Friends of the Bad Nauheim Music School and of the Friends of the Theater Alte Feuerwache Bad Nauheim. In addition to his honorary activities as chairman and member, Heidt is a member of the Spielvereinigung 08 Bad Nauheim, the "Rote Teufel" fan club of the EC Bad Nauheim and the "Friends of the Ernst Ludwig School".

Heidt is divorced and has two children.
