Committee on Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid
The Committee for Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid has been a permanent Bundestag committee since it was set up in 1998 . The current chairman is the MP Gyde Jensen ( FDP ).
tasks
The Bundestag committee is dedicated to the topic of human dignity and human rights . Corrections in the event of domestic violations are just as much on the agenda as the protection of human rights in the fight against international terrorism , prevention through humanitarian aid and work on national, European and international instruments for protecting human rights. To this end, the committee works regularly with non-governmental organizations . With the program “Parliamentarians protect parliamentarians”, MPs sponsor MPs and human rights defenders who are threatened in other countries .

The 17 members of the committee consist of 6 members of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group , 3 members of the SPD parliamentary group , as well as 2 members each from the left parliamentary group , the Bundestag parliamentary group Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen , the AfD parliamentary group and the FDP parliamentary group.
