Peter Johnstone (born December 30, 1887 in Cowdenbeath , Scotland , † between May 12 and 16, 1917 in Arras , France ) was a Scottish football player . In his football career, he won numerous titles in Scotland with Celtic Glasgow .

Career

Peter Johnstone was born in December 1887 in Cowdenbeath , about 30 km from the Scottish capital Edinburgh . Johnstone, who worked as a miner , moved in January 1908 from the Glengraig miners' association to Celtic Glasgow . With Celtic Johnstone won the Scottish Championship five times and the Scottish Cup three times by 1916 . He ran in a total of 228 competitive games (211 league games, 17 cup games) and scored 24 goals (22 league goals, 2 cup goals).

death

As a soldier in the Seaforth Highlanders Regiment in the British Army, he died in the First World War during the Battle of Arras in France. His grave is in the Arras military cemetery .

He left behind his wife and two children.
