Peter Lange

Peter Lange (* 1958 ) is a German radio journalist . He is radio correspondent for Deutschlandradio and ARD in Prague. Previously, he was editor- in- chief at the Berlin broadcaster Deutschlandradio Kultur , the culture-oriented program of Deutschlandradio, which has since been renamed Deutschlandfunk Kultur .

Life

Lange studied journalism , political science and history at the Free University of Berlin from 1979 to 1986 . From 1983 he was an editor in the news department of RIAS Berlin and then at DeutschlandRadio Berlin . In 1995 he went to Cologne's sister broadcaster Deutschlandfunk as head of the news service , and from 1999 as editor and moderator of the Zeitfunk program area . In 2005 he was appointed head of the News department. On January 1, 2007, he succeeded Dieter Jepsen-Fögeas editor-in-chief and head of the main politics department at the Berlin broadcaster Deutschlandradio Kultur, the formerly renamed DeutschlandRadio Berlin. Since August 1, 2016, he has been radio correspondent for Deutschlandradio and ARD in Prague with the reporting areas Czech Republic and Slovakia . In November 2017 he received the "German-Czech" journalism award in the radio category for his feature: "'Prague received us like relatives' - how Thomas and Heinrich Mann became Czechs".

From 2014 to 2016 Peter Lange was chairman of the Berlin Press Club .

In 2015, Peter Lange received his doctorate from the Free University of Berlin with a thesis on the conductor Hans Schwieger, who was expelled under the National Socialists.
