Peter David Latham (born January 8, 1984 in Te Awamutu ) is a former New Zealand cyclist .
2003 Peter Latham two-time champion of New Zealand: the individual time trial of the U23 and in the individual pursuit on the track ; the following year he won the national U23 title in time trial and road racing. In 2004 he started at the Olympic Games in Athens , where the New Zealand team took tenth place. In 2005 he won the bronze medal in the time trial of the U23 riders behind Michail Ignatjew and Dmytro Grabovskyy at the 2005 road cycling world championships in Madrid . He finished the UCI Oceania Tour 2005 in third place.
At the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne , Latham finished eighth in the individual time trial on the road, and with fellow compatriots Tim Gudsell , Marc Ryan and Hayden Godfrey he secured bronze in the team pursuit on the track. At the Oceania Games in the same year he won the gold medal in the team pursuit together with Jason Allen , Tim Gudsell and Marc Ryan. In the U23 time trial at the 2006 road cycling world championships in Salzburg , he finished ninth. In 2009 he was with Sam Bewley , Westley Gough and Marc Ryan Oceania champion in the team pursuit. At the end of his active sports career, Latham was New Zealand champion in 2012 in the singles and in the team pursuit (with Sam Bewley, Scott Creighton and Hayden McCormick ).
Latham then worked as a personal trainer in Wellington .
