New Zealand Cycle Classic
The New Zealand Cycle Classic (also Trust House Classic , formerly Tour of Wellington ) is a New Zealand cycle race that is held annually in January as a stage race .
The Tour of Wellington celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2017. At the beginning it was held as a two-day race under the name Angus Inn Cycle Classic . Under the leadership of the current race director Jorge Sandoval, the race was expanded to four days and seven stages in 1991, and since 1993 it has lasted five days. In 1999 the Tour of Wellington was on the UCI calendar for the first time , and teams from Europe and the United States also started. The race has been part of the UCI Oceania Tour since 2005 and is classified in category 2.2 . In 2010 the last stage was canceled due to bad weather. For 2012 the race was renamed the New Zealand Cycle Classic .
